Oh man, where do I even begin to list my reasons for why I love green smoothies? I affectionately refer to them as my “gateway health food.” It was the first step I took into changing my diet and building my health back.

Here are my top 5 health benefits from drinking green smoothies.

  1.  Increased Energy! –What woman doesn’t need this? With more energy I also experience less stress. I am able to keep my energy levels up and better deal with everything that life throws at me on a daily basis.
  2. Less Cravings For Sweets/Blood Sugar Stabilizes– My taste for regular sugar items has diminished greatly. Now fruit tastes so satisfying and sweet to me I can say “no” to any treat. In turn, because I don’t eat regular sugar anymore my blood sugar is much more stabilized. I can also handle being hungry much better than I used to.
  3. Stable Mood– I have noticed that I have a better mood when I don’t eat sugar and I add good healthy foods to my diet. It’s not new information, your diet directly affects how you feel mentally and physically and it’s very important to take care of yourself so you can in turn take care of your family.
  4. Weight Loss– When you trade donuts and pastries for green smoothies you are naturally reducing empty calories and adding very high quality calories to your diet. Green smoothies can help you loose weight but it does depend on what else you are eating in addition to your green smoothies. I encourage moderation in all things.
  5. Better Digestion– So many people these days have lots of digestion issues whether they are backed up or the opposite. Sorry, it’s not a pretty subject but your digestion and gut health says a lot about your overall health. Many are on special diets these days to help regulate their digestive systems. The great thing about green smoothies is that they are great for any diet, gluten free, dairy free, grain free, vegan, raw, you name it, green smoothies work!
