Probiotic Kefir Ranch Dressing

Homemade ranch is one of the most important staples in our home.  It’s the ONLY way my 6 year old will eat a leaf of lettuce.  The other kids like to use ranch as a dip for just about anything.  I figure if my kids love it, then I’m willing to make it myself instead of buying the ranch at the grocery store that is loaded with chemicals and preservatives.

I decided to kick up the nutrition a notch and add some kefir to it.  I always have plenty of kefir laying around.  I love using kefir in my daily green smoothies, in pancakes and waffles and I love how it keeps my immune system running well and my gut healthy.

I make sure to keep my ranch seasoning mix on hand and then when we need a batch of ranch I just mix a tablespoon of the dry herb mix with 1/2 c. Nancy’s sour cream (probiotic), 1/2 c. good quality mayo (I like Just Mayo brand), you can also use homemade mayo, and then 1/2 c. milk kefir.

Stir it all together in a mason jar and keep for a couple weeks to use on salad, carrot sticks and whatever else you love ranch with.
