Pineapple Fruit Snacks

These pineapple fruit snacks are super easy.  You just pop a can of pineapple chunks, drain, and toss them in the dehydrator.  It doesn’t matter what temperature you set the dehydrator, you don’t need to worry about preserving nutrients or enzymes because the pineapple is canned. It’s already been heated, so crank up the heat on the dehydrator and get them done faster!

Pineapple chunks are the perfect size, they shrink up to the perfect bite sized morsel. Look for the cans that just have pineapple and pineapple juice as the ingredients, you might have to look at a few different brands.  I don’t buy fruit snacks for my kids anymore because they are full of preservatives, artificial colors and sugar.  Even my kids dentist said he doesn’t buy them because they are so horrible for kids teeth.

While these are not the most nutrient dense snack, they are still definitely a step up from conventional fruit snacks and we don’t eat them every day. I like to keep them on the counter for easy access.  Enjoy!
