If you’ve begun to read labels like I do, you’ll notice that the simple, or so we thought, salad dressing has a LOT of additives in it. Flavorings, colorings, thickeners, “spices”, msg, and many more mystery ingredients. Luckily making your own salad dressing at home is super easy.
A long time ago when I first started this website I posted a recipe for homemade ranch. I still stand by that recipe and love having the ranch seasoning mix on hand to add to some sour cream for a quick dip for veggies, chips or to top a baked potato.
But, sometimes, you’re not in the mood for a rich, thick and creamy dressing and you want something a bit lighter with a little more tang. A great alternative to the beloved ranch is a simple yet flavorful vinaigrette dressing.
Make it the topping of your next delicious lunch salad and enjoy its wholesome goodness!

My absolute favorite is a Paprika Vinagrette I make, I literally eat this every day & never get sick of it.
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup red wine Vinegar
1 Tbl Dijon
1 Tbl lime juice
2 garlic cloves
1/4 cup onion
1 Tbl paprika
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp black pepper
You’re supposed to add salt & sugar but it really doesn’t need it so I leave it out. Sometimes I sub half the vinegar for Apple cider vinegar.
Enjoy!!
Oh I’ll have to try this recipe next, thanks Sarah!
