In this quick post I wanted to share my top 3 Health Benefits Of A Ketogenic Diet that I personally have experienced, in hopes to motivate you to try it out as well!
About 7 years ago my health was in shambles. I was a mom of 2 little kids and I could barley leave the house. I had chronic fatigue and crippling anxiety and each day was a struggle.
My doctor recommended a nap and a prescription but I knew there was a better way. The first thing I decided to revamp was my nutrition. I was way too addicted to sugar and carbs and most days I didn’t even eat a fruit or vegetable!
As I made little changes here and there I started to notice huge shifts in my health. It took some time and I was learning every day.
A grain free diet filled with nourishing fats, protein, veggies, nuts and seeds ended up being what really helped to heal my body!
Here are the top 3 Health Benefits Of A Ketogenic Diet that I experienced!
1. Increased Energy: During this dark time my energy was non-existent which is horrible when you have 2 little kids running around. I couldn’t clean the house, or cook meals, I couldn’t go grocery shopping without having a melt down, I’m serious when I say this time was very dark for me. As I revamped my nutrition I noticed a gradual increase in energy which was such a blessing! It was only a matter of time until I could bring my kids to story time and the park without being exhausted. It was so liberating.
If you just slightly struggle with low energy I encourage you to try a keto diet for at least 30 days and see how you feel! At the very minimum it will reset your tastebuds and get you off sugar!
2. Better Sleep: During this time I was also unable to sleep. This only added to all the health issues I experienced. Once I started eating a keto inspired diet I was able to fall asleep easier at night and … STAY asleep all night long which helped heal my body and increase my energy!
3. Drastic Decrease in Anxiety and NO More Panic Attacks: One of the most annoying symptoms to deal with during this time was intense anxiety and panic attacks. It’s such a crippling feeling. You feel a tight chest, sick stomach, shaky, nervous, you’re scared to go places because you never know if you’re going to feel “up to it” or not. Well, once I switched to a keto inspired diet my blood sugar became nice and steady and the panic attacks subsided. I realized that I generally had a panic attack when I was hungry!
