10 Reasons To Keep Witch Hazel In Your Natural First Aid Kit | https://www.hannahhepworth.com #naturalfirstaid #naturalhealth #witchhazel

Witch Hazel is an astringent that is produced from the bark and leaves of the Witch Hazel shrub.  Historically the Native Americans would boil the leaves and stems to use as a remedy for treating tumors, inflammation, and swelling. Now parts of the plant are distilled, similar to essential oils, and used as a common natural health remedy.  Witch Hazel is affordable and widely available in most stores usually located near first aid supplies.

Witch Hazel can be applied to the skin via a cotton ball easily to treat a number of different common ailments.

Below I have compiled a list of 10 ways to use Witch Hazel for natural remedies.

  1.  Blemishes

  2.  Diaper Rash

  3.  Under Eye Bags

  4. Poison Ivy

  5. Bruises

  6. Razor Burn

  7. Suburn

  8. Bug Bites

  9. Cuts/Scrapes (Nature’s Neosporin)

  10. Razor Burn

All of these 10 ailments are in some form or another a skin issue whether it be an irritation, inflammation, or injury of sorts. With any of these issues just put some witch hazel on a cotton ball and wipe/blot over the affected area.  Use 3 times a day until the irritation has healed.  With under eye bags just be careful not to get the witch hazel in your eye, you can do a nightly treatment until desired results are achieved.

I never knew that witch hazel was such a versatile little remedy.  I hope you will add this to your natural first aid kit. Are there any other ways that you use witch hazel?  Have you had any success? Please share below in the comments.
