Do you sometimes have a little bit of trouble relaxing in the evening after a long day?  Maybe you are one who struggles with anxiety and has a hard time falling asleep.  I’ve got something for you to try.  This lavender oil and epsom salt foot soak is going to make you feel so relaxed! As someone who has struggled plenty with anxiety and knows it all too well, I’ve also learned a lot about alternative remedies to help calm anxiety.

Lavender is a common remedy for those who are the nervous type.  Whether used in the essential oil form aromatically or rubbed on the wrist or under the nose to provide a calming scent or used in a relaxing bath, dried and used in a tea to sip and wind down before bed; lavender has many forms and uses.

Epsom salt also has calming properties due to its high magnesium content. Magnesium is an important relaxation mineral.  Epsom salt is wonderful added to a bath  and can provide relief for the stressed out woman.

Adding lavender and magnesium together can create a powerful combination.  Sometimes you’re not really in the mood for a bath and need a simpler solution.

Why not just soak your feet in a warm soothing solution of lavender oil and epsom salt and let the pores in your feet do the work of soaking up all of that goodness?

Today I’d like to share a quick and easy foot soak recipe. I’ve done this several times and each and every time I have soaked my tired feet it has put me in the mood for sleep and relaxed me.

All you need is a few ingredients:

Let your feet soak for as long as you like while you read, crochet or watch your favorite show. Don’t be surprised if you want to go to bed a bit earlier that night because you feel so relaxed. Listen to your body and go to bed, you’ll feel even better the next day.

People who struggle with anxiety often have a difficult time sleeping which is so hard because it just makes anxiety worse.  Your nervous system becomes overactive, it messes with your blood sugar and makes you even more tired and stressed.
