A New Year Filled With New Surprises!

Happy New Year!

It has been a LONG time since I’ve written and I’ve missed it terribly.  I’m back on track now and have a list of great topics I’m going to cover this year.

I wanted to share with you all that I’m pregnant!!!  I’m due in the spring with a baby girl and our family is beyond excited about this.  We’re pretty busy around here with 3 kids already, a husband in school, me working a couple part time jobs and juggling it all has been quite the balancing act.

Trying to keep a house clean and get the laundry done and a home cooked meal on the table has been quite a feat.  I’m not going to lie I’ve had some days that have seemed almost impossible and we started off winter on a weak note with a few bouts of sickness.

Thankfully we’re on a good health streak right now, and I’ve been sustained to have enough energy during this pregnancy to just barely get it all done…most of the time;)

I’ve realized during this time that it is more important than ever to take care of your health.  During times of great stress and busy seasons of life it is imperative for mothers to remember to take time for themselves and not forget about proper nutrition.

During the holidays I got a little lax and had a “oh well, I deserve it, I’m pregnant,” type of attitude and it left me feeling tired and susceptible to more than one cold.

The new year started with new goals and a new resolve to get back to healthy eating, that I preach about to you all the time.

My mom bought me a juicer for an early birthday gift which was AMAZING, and I’ve gotten back on track with my probiotic foods and such. I’ve had a Vitamix for years but a juicer has been so much fun to play around with.

I can’t wait to bring you tons of new content this year.  I’ve enjoyed expanding my knowledge lately on the subject of all the chemicals hidden in our personal care and household products.  For years I’ve read labels of my food and haven’t given much thought to the products that come in contact with my skin on a daily basis.  I’m even more aware of it now that I’m pregnant.  I’ll be working on educating you all on that in the near future.

I’d love your input, what topics would YOU like to see covered this year?

  • Do you need more motivation and inspiration?
  • Help with simple meals?
  • Organization for the working mom?
  • Pregnancy related topics?

Please let me know in the comments below!

Simple whole food meals….time is a precious commodity I never seem to have enough of. Getting home at 630, then it takes time to get settled, starting dinner at 700..takes minimum 30 to 45 minutes to prep, then you still have to cook it… eating by 830-900…it’s just too late! But I refuse to eat out of a box.
    Thanks!
